Test Centre for Wheels, Tyres, Wheel Bearings and Brake Discs

For over 30 years, we have been testing wheel assembly components in our dedicated test halls. Our experts design and manage state-of-the-art test facilities for the qualification of wheels, tyres, bearings, drive flange hubs, brakes and the entire wheel assembly.

Using our Flat-Trac® III CT tyre test rig, we precisely measure, characterize and parameterize tyres. High-speed external drum testing (ZWARP on HATOR) allows us to conduct Wheel Working Group (AKR) cycles and custom operational load-following tests (BLNV) under realistic conditions, at speeds up to 300 km/h.

Our bespoke impact test rig assesses pre-damage and failure behavior of wheels according to AKR specifications. With adjustable drop heights and various masses, it is ideal for a wide range of impact and crash tests. Our test portfolio is further enhanced by three rotating bending test rigs for wheels.

  • RADIAS: Simulator for Radial Impact and Side Impact

    The radial impact simulator tests the strength and failure behavior of wheels during obstacle crossings and side impacts, providing manufacturers with valuable insights into their products' properties early in the development process.

    High-level tyre measurements under stationary and dynamic operating conditions optimize the modeling accuracy of tyre and vehicle simulation models. Located in a separate and enclosed test hall with offices, assembly area and storage, we ensure complete confidentiality for our clients. IABG handles operations, deployment coordination, quality management, maintenance and further services.

  • Rotating Bending Test Rig for Wheels

    Tasks • Services

    Test rig for evaluating the operational durability of vehicle wheels, specifically the dynamic strength of the wheel dish under extreme lateral force loads:

    • Subjected to a circumferential bending moment until failure due to crack formation and/or fracture
    • A basic requirement for certification by material testing bodies of the TÜV and DEKRA associations
    • Circumferential bending test applicable to geometrically similar components (e.g., flywheels)

     

  • High-Speed External Drum Test Rig (HATOR)

    A multi-axial test rig (radial, camber and toe) for testing wheels, brake discs, wheel assemblies and tyres.
