Modal Tests and Analyses

We perform experimental modal analyses (EMA) to determine the dynamic behavior of vibratory systems. Our test system is fully mobile and can be deployed at suitable test locations. Modal analyses can be conducted using step sinusoidal or MIMO techniques. Advanced modal analysis methods are available for optimal estimation of modal parameters.

We also conduct output-only modal analyses (OMA) based on the measurement data obtained during vibration tests using our specialized analysis software.

In recent years, the characterization of micro-vibrations on sensitive test specimens under simulated space conditions has gained increasing importance. IABG has developed reliable methods for accurately determining these micro-vibrations.

Modal Analyses (EMA)

  • Determination of natural frequencies, modal damping, mode shapes, modal and effective masses under artificial excitation using phase separation and/or phase resonance methods
  • Measurement of dynamic stiffness, transfer functions and transmissibility

Vibration Data Analysis

  • Measurement and analysis of vibration data (e.g. from shaker tests)
  • Measurement and analysis of operational vibrations

Dynamic Characterization

  • Characterization of non-linearities and investigation of damping behavior
  • Characterization of micro-vibrations, including under simulated space conditions
  • Simulation of dynamic loads during take-off and flight
