Misuse and safety tests on battery storage systems

At our Competence Center for Protection, Impact and High Risk Testing (near Paderborn), we focus on carrying out abuse and safety tests on high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) battery storage systems, thereby contributing to the development of safe systems. We start where others stop - not only in terms of system sizes and energy content, but also in testing beyond the load limits!

Specialized tests for battery systems

At IABG, you benefit from end-to-end support throughout the entire development process. In addition to approval-relevant tests (e.g. in accordance with ECE R100 or GB), this also includes customer-specific implementations of fire resistance or fuel fire, mechanical integrity or crush, drop, impact, thermal propagation or nail penetration tests. We are also happy to implement special setups and test benches for you and investigate, for example, the behavior of a battery system in the event of damage to the coolant supply. Tests on battery systems for commercial vehicles or on the entire vehicle are also possible.

Our portfolio is rounded off by comprehensive pre- and post-processing activities. Together we develop the right test setup for your application.

Our employees, who are experienced in handling HV systems, also carry out findings and post-mortem analyses on critical test specimens and take care of disposal after the tests.
